The date is Tuesday, April 7th, 2026 and we will once again be at Windstone Golf Club, 9230 Windstone Drive, Ringgold, GA. Our speaker will be Barry Krauss.
Barry Krauss is widely regarded as one of the most impactful defensive players in college football history, best remembered for his iconic goal-line stand in the 1979 Sugar Bowl that helped secure the national championship for the Alabama Crimson Tide football.
Born in Pompano Beach, Florida, Krauss became a standout linebacker at the University of Alabama, where he played under legendary coach Paul “Bear” Bryant. His fourth-and-inches tackle against Penn State in the 1979 Sugar Bowl remains one of the most celebrated defensive plays in college football lore, earning him the game’s Most Outstanding Player Award.
Krauss went on to be selected sixth overall in the 1979 NFL Draft, beginning a 12-year professional career with the Baltimore/Indianapolis Colts and later the Miami Dolphins. Throughout his NFL tenure, he appeared in 152 games and recorded more than 1,000 tackles, establishing himself as a dependable and respected defensive force.
In recognition of his impact on the sport, Krauss has received multiple honors, including induction into the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame. Most recently, in January 2026, he was inducted into the Sugar Bowl Hall of Fame, commemorating his legendary role in one of the most storied games in Sugar Bowl history.
Today, Krauss continues to inspire athletes and fans as a broadcaster and motivational speaker, sharing lessons of perseverance, leadership, and excellence drawn from his remarkable career.

In the spring, we have a dinner with a special guest speaker. Chris Stewart and Tyler Watts were our speakers for our last spring dinner. Previous events have included Jeff Allen, Eli Gold, Greg Byrne, Jeremiah Castille, Barrett Jones and John Parker Wilson, among others.
These are great events to be able to socialize and hear some great Alabama stories. We also have both live and silent auction items available.
